Balimau Tradition in My Hometown
Balimau is a tradition from Minangkabau. It is a celebration to welcome Ramadhan. Usually many people go to water tourism, to take a bath. It means to clear our body and our heart from many sins. Actually this tradition not mention in Al-qur’an. It is still happen until now, and become a tradition of Minangkabau.
In my hometown, many people do balimau . It is held one day before Ramadhan. Before we will go to take a bath, we come together to the mosque, pray to Allah SWT and held a Ta’lim . It means to know more each others And make our relationship better. After that, we eat together. Women bring some foods with talam from their house. Many kinds of foods can we get here. All delicious!
After that, many people will go to Batang Tabik. Batang Tabik is a big swimming pool. The water are clean and pure. Children until adult take a bath here. They take a bath using variety of flowers, to make their body fragrants.
I really wait this moment before Ramadhan is coming. It is a tradition in my hometown for welcome Ramadhan. It is so exciting and interesting! How about in your town?
In the first paragraph, you should change "welcome" to "open"
